What If My Child Doesn’t Know Anyone at Camp?
It’s one of the most common questions parents ask before booking a holiday camp — and a completely natural one.
At Supreme Camps, many children arrive without knowing anyone. Camps bring together children from different schools and areas, so your child won’t be the only one meeting new faces.
Settling In at the Start of the Day
As campers arrive in the morning, there is free play available, giving children the chance to explore, join games casually and start chatting with others in a relaxed way. This helps children ease into the day naturally before more structured activities begin.
For children who feel a little nervous, early drop-off can be helpful, as it’s often calmer and gives them time to settle in before things get busier.
Age-Appropriate Groups
For most of the day, children are grouped with others of a similar age, which helps them feel more comfortable and makes it easier to form friendships through shared interests and activities.
Supportive Staff
Children usually make friends very quickly, but our coaches are always keeping an eye out. If a child looks unsure or a little on their own, they’re gently encouraged into games or group activities where connections can form naturally.
What Parents Often Notice
By pick-up time, many parents tell us their child is talking about new friends they’ve made — and often asking when they can come back.
Reassurance for Parents
We don’t provide regular updates throughout the day unless there’s something important to share, but if anything notable arises, parents will always be contacted.
If your child is attending camp for the first time, not knowing anyone beforehand is completely normal. With a supportive team, age-appropriate groups and a welcoming environment, Supreme Camps offers a positive first camp experience.
